SHAMPOO MAKES ME SICK!

Im a hairdresser just so you know and I have a rant.
and sorry this contains strong language because i feel so angry about this that it needs to be done.

Im sick of people thinking that supermarket shampoo is good for their hair
ITS NOT.

Im sick of people saying:
I use toni and guy
I use john frieda
I use tressame

TONI AND GUY'S PRODUCTS ARE CALLED LABLE M
THEY DONT SELL THIS IN SUPERMARKET.

TRESSAME ..
PROFESSIONAL AFFORDABLE ...
NO ITS NOT PROFESIONAL .
maybe it was professional once...?
but people around here have never heard of it being in salons
maybe it was in the 20s i dont know ....
but im dam sure that its not the same one they used back then.

lets put it like this.
supermarkets and shops buy their name and use it on products.

Head and shoulders DONT USE THIS
pantene pro v DONT USE THIS
These products contain loads of silicone that coat the hair to feel soft and shiny
this builds up, your colour faids because it cant get into your hair, and it will also weigh your hair down
and when you use a different shampoo after this you will appear to have dandruff where the silicone is coming off your hair ... EWW!
I looked it up and people are claiming that its making them loose hair! :O

Im sure that all of the supermarket brands have this in but these 2 are the worst
when u tell your hairdresser that you use them she/he will be SCREAMING IN THEIR HEAD
AND SEEING RED.

Heres a little story

I have a client she wants red hair .. she already uses a box colour but it just keeps going mank
so i do a full head colour and it looks so nice and even, LUSH.
then week later her hair is mank and colour has faded.
I could not believe this. I ask her what shampoo she uses and says head and shoulders.
I'm so disappointed. not only a waste of her money but a waste time as well.
This could also lead to her thinking that salon colours are shit and this would result in her not coming back.

So i hear u say:
PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS ARE TOO EXPENSIVE

I hear you girl' im not made of money!
and if u are, your lucky, go buy a whole range and get celeb looking hair!

Heres a trick:
Buy professional products from the net if it works out cheaper.

when you are in the shower:
Loads of shampoo in our hands-all over your hair give it a good scrub get out all the dirt and slap a load of conditioner all over all nice. NO

shampoo n condish: a pound size amount in your hand, apply to the roots of your hair, give it a good scruba dub dub, when you rince out the shampoo it will go down your hair to the ends and clean, there for you dont need to use loads.

Conditioning: take a pound size or more if your hair is thick and VERY long. only apply to the very ends or mid lengths and ends. for instance take your hand and pull your hair into a ponytail, only condition the tail bit of your hair. This way u will use less product saving you money :P!

WASH YOUR HEAD
CONDITION YOUR HAIR!

Us girls, we like to look pretty have nice clothes and hair and things
we spend money on waxing and tanning and nail varnish and other beauty goods
but everyone forgets about looking after their hair,
yes we get it cut and colour it. but do we look after it. NO

We use a shit shampoo that STRIPS OUT our colour (that we payed allot for or used a box colour on)
and it can give us the opposite of what hair we have (ie. i have dry hair, the shampoo gave me oily hair or dandruff or made it even more dry)

We all want to look our best
and im sure we all want nice hair .. right ?

So, if your colour is fading, your hair just keeps getting dryer or your hair is forever oily or you have dandruff, or your hair just keeps getting damaged..

PEASE ASK your stylist for advise, you dont have to buy it there and then. look at the bottle read what is says on it,smell it, ask the stylist what she uses or recommends, ask her if she used it on your hair today and maybe look it up on the net and find it cheaper.

If you are not interested in this then DONT complain about how shit your hair is.

As a hairdresser I am going to recommend you this.

If your colour is faded I recommend you use:
Wella Brilliance (for coloured hair) Shampoo and conditioner.
Shampoo 250ml £8.75
Conditioner 200ml £10.15

WHY?!
because I use it and my clients use it, and we see results.
I will not recommend something that I have not tried.

you can read up about wella's whole range of hair care products here
They do products for
coloured hair, dry hair, oily hair, mature hair, flaky scalp/dandruff
also you can chose the product for thick or thin hair.
click the collection bar on the right hand side.

Thanks for reading
